"A young client I support discovered a car garage

"A young client I support discovered a car garage in his community a few years ago that caught his interest immediately. Over time, He learned about automotive work and developed strong relationships with the mechanics at the shop.

This very quickly became the highlight of his week. For a client who struggled with managing behaviours, this outing helped build trust, accountability and created a sense of purpose.

He was able to help out with tasks around the shop and spent time with the mechanics who showed genuine care to his well being and offered support.

As the result of a recent move to another community he was unable to visit the car garage for several months. However, he recently returned for occasional visits and reconnected with the mechanics. This was a reminder of how lasting relationships and positive role models can make a difference in someone’s life." - a Wright Rehab RT
