It is important for our RTs to build trust early on with their clients. Building rapport and finding trust early in the treatment plan period leads to more successful RT sessions and goals are reached sooner.

On the surface it may have only seemed like a fun activity but in reality it was addressing several of his rehabilitation goals.  With support my client planned the outing (develop planning skills), mapped a route to the event (develop life skills), took breaks throughout the day (increase pacing awareness) and connected with several like-minded people (community reintegration).
